Did that really just happen? (part 2)

My ridiculous inability to send emails to the right people has finally come back to bite me. I have once again sent an email to the wrong person and this person happened to be crazy.

Lets rewind shall we? Every Friday we hit up a happy hour to discuss our craziest teacher stories and hang out with good friends. This week I sent out the invite to all my teacher type friends. Unfortunately, I also sent it to my certification supervisor. Irony... I started the email with a joke about how it had to be a professional note. Irony number two... it was professional and yet I still got yelled at. My email said nothing about alcohol, it simply said dinner and a movie. Unfortunately, Anna emailed back to everyone about how great the margaritas were. This whole mishap wouldn't be that big a deal except for the fact that my supervisor is a little bit insane. And by a little bit, I mean a lot.

She called Anna on Friday and yelled at her for her email. Anna then went into the office to turn in her paperwork and she yelled at her again. Anna's supervisor told her that's just the way my supervisor was and she didn't think it was that big a deal. Today I called her to apologize (for the third time) and she told me that she doesn't want me to email her anymore. What's that you say? No email? Um, yeah. I've had my email privileges revoked because she got invited to dinner. End of the world. She's going to email me as a part of our certification group, but if I have any questions I have to call her.

Thankfully, she didn't yell at me, but she certainly wasn't very nice. She said she's still very quite upset. I'm still confused as to what there is to be upset about. She got invited to dinner via email and then someone emailed back and said there were good margaritas! Oh my. But apparently it's a very big deal and she only told me one... two... three... four... five times to delete the email because her name shouldn't be connected to it. I would post it here, but in some twist of fate she would find it and it would reconfirm for her that surely this is the email that would ruin her career.

So here's my professional tip of the day: don't send emails at 6:45 in the morning because you will pick the one person on your email list who is certifiable and you will accidentally invite them to dinner and then you will be accused of trying to sabotage their career.

Wow, that is truly annoying. There is a way to avoid crazy people when sending an email so early in the morning/ late at night. It's called BigString (http://www.bigstring.com), the new free webmail program. It offers revolutionary features. When you send mail from your BigString free email account, you are protected. BigString is like an automatic shredder for your email. You can self-destruct or change an email that's already been sent or read. Don't leave your messages sitting in peoples' inbox forever. So next time you can just take back the message and they won't even know you ever contacted them.
